About Lee:
Lee Jarrell is a trained spiritual director and supervisor living in Katy, Texas. He spent the first part of his pastoral career in College Station, Texas as pastor for a college-based church, then later served two Dallas area congregations including being a church planter in Lewisville, Texas. His most recent years in Garland, Texas were spent providing Pastoral Care for a large congregation. Pastoral Care made for an easy transition into Spiritual Direction.
When talking about his relationship with God, Lee says:
“I just love doing life with God, and I know God loves doing life with me.”
This conviction didn’t come easy. Lee’s recovery from alcohol abuse and addiction in the early 2000’s, though painful, ultimately led him to a fuller, more vibrant love affair with the Holy. He realized that God had been standing outside of his “door” waiting. Lee just had to let him.
Once Lee opened the door to his heart and said yes to God, he says God ran to meet him. This experience has translated into a deep desire and passion to provide safe and compassionate spaces for his directees to explore their sacred story through the art of spiritual direction.
Lee’s areas of competency:
Emotional abuse and healing
Depression, anxiety, panic, stress and/or trauma
Addiction including co-dependency
Twelve -step recovery
Spiritual abuse (clergy and/or church members)
Divorce
Family of origin wounds including generational trauma
Lee uses a variety of tools tailored for each directee based on their desires and needs.
Enneagram proficiency
12-step recovery tools
Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount
Dreamwork
Lee considers himself a wounded healer and believes a person’s transformation happens best in an atmosphere of confidential, compassionate, vulnerable, and authentic community. This is the environment Lee offers in his spiritual direction practice.
“I prefer paying attention to where the Holy Spirit is actively working, and the intentionally listening to understand how I might participate in the Spirit’s ongoing Kingdom work.” – Lee Jarrell

Lee first attended Texas A&M University in College Station at 18 and soon after answered his call to full-time ministry where he served in Protestant and Non-denominational churches. Lee has been doing spiritual direction since 2012 welcoming all faith traditions and those of none. Lee, and his wife Hope, moved from Dallas to the Houston area to be closer to the four children and eight grandchildren, for whom he loves spending quality time, along with his beloved dog, Tank. He likes to read, play golf and dominoes, and hang out in nature.
By providing a safe and confidential space, a spiritual director helps a directee be aware of and discern the voice of the Holy Spirit, and then supports them as they live that out in their life.
